thank you roskilde festival 2013

Roskilde festival yet again proved to be one of Europe´s leading music festivals with thousands of ecstatic guests and overwhelmed artists this year.

To start of the festival on the Thursday night was to go and check out one of the front names, the rapper Kendrick Lamar. “I have been performing on stage since I was sixteen. I am twenty-six now and this is the loudest mother fucking crowd I have ever had” proclaimed Kendrick Lamar before his final song for the audience. Later that night Slipknot owned the Orange Stage for what seemed to be around 3 hours with a smashing live performance as they do best.

Rihanna one of the leading names and probably the most crowded concert of the festival took over the Orange stage in a killer KTZ outfit on the Friday night and proclaimed she was overwhelmed by her fans that had been waiting in line from the day before to get into the front pit. Crystal Castles were up next and stirred up some kind of great insanity from the crowd, which did not stand still throughout the whole performance. The new stage Apollo, which opened last year and is thought to be the platform for electronic artists also proved to be a great addition to the festival where Simian Mobile Disco sealed the Friday night.

The sun and cloudless sky kept the festival guests good company throughout the weekend among solid performers like The National, Sigur Rós, James Blake, Azelia Banks, Queens of the Stone Age, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and so on. Metallica was certainly back to Roskilde Festival this year after 10 years and were definitely the hype of the Saturday evening were they delivered one of the best concerts of the whole festival with fireworks shooting from the stage like there was no tomorrow.

Sunday was the last and probably the hottest day of the festival which, lead many of the festival guests to the Relax City. There you could cool of and swim or just lay in the hammocks with a Margarita on the side, if you were to beat to do anything else before the last concerts.

Kraftwerk was the last artist on the schedule and performed a 3-D concert on the Orange Stage in front of around 60.000 people. Seeing this legendary foursome playing into the sunset was truly a nostalgic moment and the perfect way of closing down a great Roskilde Festival this year.
